Hiya guys!

Welcome to LXDE Survival, a home for LXDE screenshots, tricks, and history. LXDE stands for Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment. Known for being extremely lightweight, it requires very little in terms of hardware resources (CPU and RAM), making it ideal for reviving old computers or for devices with limited specifications.

This site is where I collect everything related to LXDE that doesn't quite fit anywhere else: my own desktop setups, fixes for the small annoying bugs that come with running an older desktop environment, a bit of history on where LXDE came from and where it's headed, and a running list of distros still keeping it alive today.

If you're still running LXDE in some form, whether on a decade-old laptop or a fresh Arch install, you're in the right place. Feel free to look around, and if you're into the same kind of thing, check out r/LXDEsurvival, A newly created subreddit for those who still love LXDE, whether it's for posting screenshots, discovering lesser-known distributions, or simply discussing why people still use this desktop environment today, despite those who consider it deprecated.
